And the winner is......

Hi guys

Firstly, if you didn't win this comp, and you collect 15mm scifi or are thinking of starting 15mm scifi, I will be running another comp soon, but will give it its own post, stay tuned, and there will be another similar comp to this in June next year, next time I will consider putting in a 2nd and 3rd place prize.

I didn't really take into consideration the down side of this comp, what happens if the winner is a better painter then myself? unfortunately this is the case, Jacksarge is a better painter, I may have the edge on conversions though, so will have to put in extra effort to provide something worthy of fielding next to his own troops, congratulations Jacksarge please email me at dan.dunbar@hotmail.com to work out the details of your prize, the winner was decided by drawing of cards.

R.I.P John Lesley Dunbar

One of the toughest and gentlest guys I know, he would do anything for anyone, my grandfather was a Soldier (Royal Australian Engineers) and Fireman in his 83 years, and battled right to the end, he will be missed dearly, a sad day for all that knew him.

Very WIP Lemartes

Hi guys, haven't done much hobby related stuff this week, the only thing to show is some very WIP shots of my Lemartes, still a lot of work to do on this little guy, he will be the first major Blood angels character. He looks like he has ear phones on, but that will become a halo, I think the jets look about the right size, are they to long? there will be a lot of work done on the back pack yet.

Trench 2114

Picture from Trench 2114 web site

Hi guys,

I don't usually do this, my posts are generally showing work I am doing or have done, however there is a new company about to release their first figs, I wanted to share this with my followers, as I am quite excited about this new line of figures, and want them to succeed, they will be releasing 15mm and 28mm figures and the line is Scifi based on WWI, the greens of the first 15mm figures are simply stunning, please visit their site. I have no affiliation to this company, just an eager fan.

1st Gunners Wargaming give away competition

Hi guys

The Gunners Wargaming give away will be held yearly on my birthday, 15 June

I was trying to decide what would be a good prize for a give away, when I thought the best prize is something tailor made for the individual, and something you can't get anywhere else, so my prize will be, I will collaborate with the winner to use my limited skills to create a group of characters/command stand/vehicle's/small unit, for your army, to your specification, using figures/models from my collection, and my conversion/painting skills.
So you choose the scale, period and force and if I have it in my collection I will make something for your collection.
So how big will the group of figures be? upper and low limit will be determined by how much work will be needed for each figure, and how many I have available in my collection.

15mm and 1/72 figs - 8-16ish
28mm figs - 6-12ish
15mm vehicles - 1-3
1/72nd vehicles - 1-2
28mm vehicles - don't ask, I don't have any.
Mixed - or you may want a mix of a vehicle with some crew - 1 vehicle + 4-6 crew.

I don't have a collection that covers all scales and periods, but I do have a big enough collection that I should be able to cater for most needs, some ideas could be -
1) 28mm Characters for Sharpes practice, e.g. Richard Sharpe
2) A group of 15mm Fantasy adventurers or war band
3) A squad of 15mm Space Marines
6) 1 or 2 Mechs
7) A center piece for a WWII unit

So to be eligible to enter you must
1) add a reply to this post with, scale, period, force, and make up of what you would like.
2) Follow my blog publicly.
3) post a link to this post and pimp my blog on your own blog if you have one.

Good Luck.

WIP bolter armed Death Company squad

Hi guys, some WIP shots of my bolter armed Death Company squad, I will also do an assault squad with Jumpacks and they will be led by Lamartes, is there enough red in these guys? the chapter emblem on the left should will be done in white.

1st squad 2nd company of the Blood Angels finished

Hi guys, the 1st squad 2nd company of the Blood Angels finished, designated by the white skull on black back ground on the right knee, (3rd squad was red drop on yellow knee pad) its a bit hard to see in the pic, but I have gone with bone/green for the Tyranids, I'm now painting my bolter armed Death company squad. Question, which bolter do you prefer, the one the Sergeant has or the one the basic Marines have?
