15mm Stormtroopers conversions finished
Hi guys, the Stormtrooper platoon finished, 3, 8 man sections (support weapons to come) not sure if I will put grass on the bases or go for a desert look, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, might sculpt Darth Vader next.
And...this has me wondering whether using the heads from MicroMachine Rebel soldiers, atop some suitable low/mid tech figures, would work as just as well?
"this has me wondering whether using the heads from MicroMachine Rebel soldiers, atop some suitable low/mid tech figures, would work as just as well?"
IMHO I think that would work ONLY with heads with a massive headgear (so rebel soldiers from the Tantive IV boarding action, as they had large helmets, and Imperial navy troops as they too had large headgear), otherwise if you try to put 24mm heads on 15 mm bodies the proportions would come out awful.
Thanks guys, seems stormtroopers are popular, this post has the most responses of all my post, I have a micromachine Darth Vader and will use his head as the basis of a conversion, and yes I will be doing snow troopers at some stage.

Wow! These figures came out very, very well. There's no question in one's mind that these _are_ Stormtroopers. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, if it were me I'd leave the bases sand-covered. Those orange squad leader shoulder pads remind me of the Tatooine sand troopers.
