WIP 1/72nd German group nearly done.
Hi guys, almost finished these, just need to paint the tank crews and truck driver, and make the number plates, using the pain in the ass Dragon number plate decals, you get 5 sets of plates with each 251, but have to add the numbers individually, why couldn't they have added 1 or 2 completed sets? I could do a lot more on these, but I have to draw the line in the sand somewhere, so this will have to do, what do you think?
Wow! These look great. With all the detailing you've done, these models look like they're 1/35th scale. It's hard to believe they're half that size. : )
WOW great work once again! Dan your work is that of a man working at 1:1 scale not 1?72 nice work those vehichles are great well worth the effort you put INHO :-D
Nothing like wargamning with display quality models! Awesome job. True talent displayed here. Am I to assume you will use Flames of War as your rule set? This makes me want to start another period! Oh great.
Thanks guys, yeah the Panther tracks are horrible, but didn't want to use running gear from another kit to detail it, would rather just build the other kit in the first place, I have a couple of other Panthers in the stash, so he will have better looking company. Could have do more on the weathering, but this is also about getting the kits completed, so leaving out some steps.
Old post but I just floated by and thought I might comment on the decals. Great work, very nice! I did notice you are having a slight problem with your decals setting, they are "silvering. This happens when you have air under the decal. This happens because the painted surface is too rough (flat paint) and the decal does not lay flat on the paint but is raised by the flats grain. Your decals will work much better, look better like it was painted if you simply gloss coat first (good protection) let dry, apply decal, let dry, gloss over, let dry, the matt coat. Check out my site www.HistoricalHobbies.com under workbench section for a full article. Cheers

ReplyDeleteDespite the YUGGGH tracks on the Panther (which is of course the producers fault and not yours) the painting and modelling is outstanding !!!!!
