My first game of Zombicide and a review

Hi guys,
Well, now that I have finished Scott's figs, we thought we would put them to the test, we played a simple introductory game, I liked it, very simple, there is an Ipad app that makes it even easier, and the best thing is it can be single player, even though I liked it, I am mainly a 15mm fig collector, so I am thinking of re producing the terrain boards and figs in 15mm, the game was fun, in the end we found all the supplies we were looking for, unfortunately Dog the Zombie Hunter sacrifice himself so the group could get away, but was mercifully finished off with the obligatory shot to the brain pan.
The terrain is a great idea, the boards are double sided, and you get more boards/figures and different types of zombies with expansion packs, I believe there are 2 already.
The rules are simple, fun and fast, even faster with the IPad app.
The figure are great, I am really impress with their detail.
All in a great product, and the figure alone are worth the price.

28mm Zombicide figs finished

Hi guys, the next batch are all Zombicide figs, single piece softish plastic, I have not converted them at all,
Dog the Zombie Hunter - the first figure looked a little like Dog the bounty hunter, so I painted him up as him, all these figures are painted for my mate, and he is a St George Dragons fan (Aussie Rugby league club)
so I put him in their colours, red/white.
Wests Tigers - my team however are the Wests Tigers, so I painted this in their colours, Orange/white/black.
Shane - The cop could pass a Shane from the walking dead before he shaved his head, so I painted him in the Khaki uniform.
The Mormon Zombie killer - my mates a Mormon, so the fig with the twin ozzies can be a Mormon door knocker.

28mm Shaun of the dead survivors

Hi guys, next we have the Shaun of the Dead survivors
Ed - I changed Eds arms, thought a bottle of alcohol would suit him, and re sculpted his hair.
Shaun - is a stock fig, the bat is a little fragile on this guy.
David - was a mistake, I hadn't planned on making him, but I was stuck for a paint job, I started giving him a generic paint job, and finished him from the waist down when I thought maybe his glasses make him look a little like David, so he is not a perfect copy, but I think he looks like David might if he had of survived for a couple of months.

28mm Walking dead survivors finished

Hi guys, I'm going to break up the finished apoc survivors into several posts, as there are just to many pics, here are the Walking dead survivors,
Daryl - he looks like he has been holding up in the Cheesburger consortium and has put on 40 kgs, re sculpted the hair, added the vest, otherwise stock figure.
Rick - stock figure, except I drilled out the left knee and sculpted a tear in his pants, and re did his hair to look more like Rick, I was going to do him in all black, but I started to noticed it seems like nearly every character in the walking dead is wearing black, so I went with the tan shirt and black pants.
Glenn - the fig has a hoody, this was the only pic I could find with him in a hoody, so went with that scheme, besides, there's no black, he still looks more African American than Korean, didn't get the skin colour right.
Carl - stock fig with the troopers hat relocated, I reshaped the hat to a more realistic feel.

WIP 28mm Survivors, better detailed pics

Hi guys, I'm using a different painting technique on these guys, I have used a white undercoat then a black wash, I will now use washes and glazes to colour the figs, not sure how it will go, but I thought this stage of the process gives a good indication of the detail of the figures for others, all C&C welcome.

Review of 28mm plastic Apoc Survivors

Hi guys, I am building a group of Zompocalypse survivors for a friend, and he has sent me some Zombiecide and Wargames factory plastic figs, the WF figs come in male and female 30 figure multi part sets, Zombiecide is a boardgame style set with a range of single piece survivors and Zombies as well as cardboaud terrain and a rules set.
Firstly I love the concept of multi part plastic figure kits, great examples are Victrix and Perry Napoleonic plastic figures, they allow you to build a large variety of figure poses cheaply, and allow for some great conversions by swapping parts from different sets, but I am not a fan of the Wargames Factory Apocalypse survivors : The men.
It seems to me that the figures in WF set are pre determined poses, it is actually hard to get a range of poses by using different arms, each set is clearly designed for a specific body, you do however have a range of heads and weapons to use, so could get a variety of figures from a couple of packs, however, we have to look at what we are trying to achieve with this pack, Zombie games generally have hordes of Zombies, but only small groups of survivors, so the ability to make a large range of slightly different poses IMHO does not outweigh the loss of detail/heft you get in metal figure, so whilst these aren't horrible figures, when I make my own survivor group I will use some of the really nice metal figures from the likes of Hasselfree, Copplestone etc.
On the other hand the Zombiecide plastic single cast figures are brilliant, they are a hardish plastic, similar to the new Italeri 1/72 plastic figs, probably not glue able, but should hold paint well and not bend much, the detail and style of the figures is excellent, and they tick all the boxes for survivors, with extra equipment and lots of character, I was only sent 1 each of the survivors so can't comment on the Zombie figures or the rest of the game, but highly recommend the survivors.
The Zombicide figures are a little larger than the WF figs, but it wouldn't stop me using them together.
I have tried to make some Characters from Shawn of the dead and the walking dead using the WF set, they are not completed yet, the Zombiecide figs are multi coloured and the grey figs are WF, all C&C welcome.
