The Gunners Wargaming give away will be held yearly on my birthday, 15 June
I was trying to decide what would be a good prize for a give away, when I thought the best prize is something tailor made for the individual, and something you can't get anywhere else, so my prize will be, I will collaborate with the winner to use my limited skills to create a group of characters/command stand/vehicle's/small unit, for your army, to your specification, using figures/models from my collection, and my conversion/painting skills.
So you choose the scale, period and force and if I have it in my collection I will make something for your collection.
So how big will the group of figures be? upper and low limit will be determined by how much work will be needed for each figure, and how many I have available in my collection.
15mm and 1/72 figs - 8-16ish
28mm figs - 6-12ish
15mm vehicles - 1-3
1/72nd vehicles - 1-2
28mm vehicles - don't ask, I don't have any.
Mixed - or you may want a mix of a vehicle with some crew - 1 vehicle + 4-6 crew.
I don't have a collection that covers all scales and periods, but I do have a big enough collection that I should be able to cater for most needs, some ideas could be -
1) 28mm Characters for Sharpes practice, e.g. Richard Sharpe
2) A group of 15mm Fantasy adventurers or war band
3) A squad of 15mm Space Marines
5) A 15mm Space ship crew
6) 1 or 2 Mechs
7) A center piece for a WWII unit
So to be eligible to enter you must
1) add a reply to this post with, scale, period, force, and make up of what you would like.
2) Follow my blog publicly.
3) post a link to this post and pimp my blog on your own blog if you have one.
Good Luck.
I'd love to see a near-future, human (with robots?) 15mm starship crew in the vein of Alien and Firefly/Serenity. I'll post a link to this post on my blog and on facebook right away!
ReplyDeleteHi Omer Golan - Joel - I have plenty of figures and robots to put a good size starship crew together for you, good luck.
ReplyDeleteShiny count me in Blog post posted, already followed your site and for the choice a Saga Unit similar to the one in the pictures would be great! Although I would prefer them unbased as they can than easilier join the rest of the collection.
ReplyDeleteBest regards!
Not a problem, can do Normans, Vikings, or Saxons, we will work the details out if you win, good luck.
ReplyDeleteI too could work with a SAGA unit of some sort
ReplyDeleteSAGA unit is doable, good luck
DeleteAwesome - or of course some sort of Cthulhu Cultist horror related stuff would be awesome too!
DeleteEither way, consider yourself pimped!

Hi Danl
ReplyDeleteA small collection of ADCs in 28mm Scale for FOG-Napoleonics would be cool. Similar to the PERRY 'Hanger's On' for example.
I already follow your blog and I have a link on my blog to yours. I'll advitise your Comp / Give away on my Blog.
To be fair, I'd provide the miniatures.
Failing that, a SAGA Unit would be excellent of any flavour.
Cheers
Scott
Cheer!
we'll work it out, good luck.
DeleteHi Danl
DeleteJust to elaborate, for FOG-N you allocate command points to you units using model ADCs. So a typical army requires anything from about 6 ADC fig to 12 ADCs.
These are individual mounted or dismounted figures. You could even use any type of Officer figure to do the job.
Cheers
Hi Dan, how about some 1944 British Commandos in 1/72 with the green berets? Or a 1/72nd radio truck for my 1944 British? Or perhaps a couple of Humber Armoured cars in 1/72?
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I am a follower of your blog & have it in my blog list.
I will be happy to put a link to your comp on my blog.
Cheers,
JS
Hi JS, The commandos are doable, and maybe a humber, would have to look, don't think the radio car is possible, good luck.
DeletePosted a link at TMP.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Hi Dan.
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog ever since I saw your 15mm Space Marines on The Miniatures Page, so I can't help but jump at the chance to pick up some of my own. It'd be ridiculously cool to have a squad of Salamanders (perhaps with one of those Thunder Hammers for the sergeant) to pit against my Khurasan Space Demons (which are probably going to be painted up as pseudo-tyranids).
Anyway, you've even motivated me to start up a miniatures oriented blog (it's been on my todo list for quite some time). I've added you to my blogroll and I'll go add a post pointing to this contest immediately.
Thanks,
-garrett
Salamanders are no problem, good luck.
DeleteOoh.. a pretty saga unit.. lots of scope for colour and movement. Although the Sci-Fi stuff is also excellent.
ReplyDeleteAnd my blog is http://aleadodyssey.blogspot.com.au/
SAGA is no problem, good luck.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
BOLO/OGRE - might be doable.
DeleteParked Space ship - would have to think about it, maybe, but it would be totally scratch built.
Mechs - easy.
Good luck
DeleteHi Dan. I would also go for the 15mm space ship crew option -preferably painted as though wearing industrial style clothing and overalls. Orange maybe?
ReplyDeleteI'll be putting up the link on my terminus omega blog :)
DeleteOrange space crew, no problems, good luck
DeleteHi!
ReplyDelete15mm Sci-fi, A troop/group of rouge traders / space pirates. Since I mostly now days play Blasters & Bulkheads, no real uniformity is directly required, even a mixed up gang might be better.
Regarding public pimping I hope a link in my blogoroll thingy is valid entry: http://workshop.blambi.chebab.com/
Space crew, no problems, good luck.
DeleteI would want 1/72 Infantry for my War in South America, it's a Victorian steampunk sort of setting. It features things like steam tanks and airships. I make mine by mixing ACW figures with some WWI type equipment, but something like Napoleonic figures with WWII stuff might work. A couple of vehicle crews could work as well, or if you really feel like a task you could try and make a steam tank with crew. I'll put up a link for your blog on my blog.
ReplyDeleteMade a post on my blog it will go up Monday at 11 AM, hopefully it will get you all the lunch time readers.
DeleteSounds interesting, I have some 1/72 ACW and WWI, and heaps of green stuff, so I think this is doable.

DeleteThat's the link to the repost article, I had about 150 views between posting it and now so I hope it helped a bit.
I would love to be entered into your competition, Blog Pimpage to follow.
ReplyDeleteP.S. as I found this blog through another blog on my list posting about this comp, may I say that this post is a nice introduction to your blog, all the links to your previous posts gave me a nice little tour of the highlights!
Oh, and if I were to win,I think a little SAGA group would be very nice thank you very much.
DeleteSAGA unit it is, good luck.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join in on the fun here,15mm Space Marines are a must for me...Pimpage has commenced!
ReplyDeleteCrimson Fists are my preference
ReplyDeleteCrimson fists aren't a problem, good luck.
DeletePost pimpming done: http://leadandpaint.blogspot.ca/2012/06/pimping-for-prizes_18.html
ReplyDeleteHey, love to join the contest! Great blog!
ReplyDeletePut me down for either some 28mm WWII (German or Soviets) or something 1920's or fits in that range for Cthulu in the 28mm range either human or monsters.
Maybe able to help with the 28mm WWII, good luck.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSecond try. Posting to my blog!
DeleteAnd 15mm space ship crew sounds great, honestly. You do such great work with characters.
Space crew it is, good luck.
DeleteWorking on a 15mm scale OGRE conversion for
ReplyDeletethe Crimson fists
http://brazosevilempire.blogspot.com/2012/06/crimson-fist-ogre.html
I know next to nothing about Ogres, is that scratch built? or a kit? can you do a comparison pic with a 15mm fig.
DeleteThat one was a plaster kit made as a limited run a few years ago the guy who made them
ReplyDeletesent you one in resin and one in plaster, I built the resin one stock and decided to have fun with the second by using 40k parts. Here
are some pics of the standard with some 15mm vehicles:
http://brazosevilempire.blogspot.com/2012/04/15mm-ogre-command-team.html
Thanks Dan, I've always been a fan of the BOLO idea of cybernetic super tanks, after your give away we should have a contest to build one..) I'm using this beast as my Titan Hunter....figure this could get into a slugging match with a Titan and come away smiling....)
ReplyDeleteHello Dan,
ReplyDeleteI think this works: http://moedbeleidentrouw.blogspot.nl/2012/06/gunners-wargaming-contest.html
I would love a SAGA unit, or a few Space Marines.
Cheers!
Can do either, good luck.
DeleteHello Gunner
ReplyDeleteposted about your giveaway on my blog here
http://mlwodementia.blogspot.com/2012/06/1st-gunners-wargaming-giveaway.html
28mm 40k World Eater Chaos lord with paired lightining claws in power or terminator armor.
I have been working on building a Apocaclypse sized World eater army and want to field a paired lightining claw Chaos Lord
ColKG
I think a WE lord is doable, good luck.
DeleteI would like to enter!
ReplyDelete28mm Space Wolves would be preferred.
Promoted on my blog here: http://rkik.wordpress.com/2012/06/18/contest-promotion-gunners-wargaming/
Hmmm, Space wolves, for the first time I maybe stumped, I traded my whole unmade 28mm Space marine collection a while ago, I still have Chaos space marine stuff though, do you have any other armies you are collecting?
DeleteI will look around, may have something I can make Space wolves out of.
DeleteDan,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great gesture on your part. Here's hoping you get many, many entries.
As for myself, my new 28mm Norman warband for Saga could do with some inspired leadership from a command stand!
Here's the link from my blog to your give away
http://kingsleypark64.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/give-away-competition-at-gunners.html
SAGA Command it is, good luck.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea - happy birthday! I would also love to win a Saga unit, maybe of Normans.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Alan
http://dux-homunculorum.blogspot.com.au/
Normans it is, good luck.
DeleteHappy Birthday and what a fantastic idea!!! Count me in please. I quite fancy some 15mm civilians representing my wargames group Posties Rejects!
ReplyDeleteCivies maybe possible, good luck.
DeleteCool idea. Thanks. I would be interested in most things 15mm. WWI or WWII Terrain or civilians. Always have a use for civilians.
ReplyDeleteWWI or WWI terrain, interesting, maybe able to do this, good luck.
DeleteJust a hero for Saga would be brilliant.
ReplyDeleteAny type, I collect Dark Age miniatures which I keep in my display cabinet.
I'd be sure to post it up on my blog too.
Darrell
Display cabinet SAGA hero, can do, good luck.
DeleteWhat can I say, I came here to look at the mechs and stayed for the giveaway (which I am a complete sucker for). Happy (blog) birthday.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would be most interested in is a 15mm sci-fi 'support crew', a group of unarmed but mostly uniformed humans that can be used as the poor lads who need rescuing when the aliens inevitably come to take our bases.
15mm support crew, I have just the figures for this, good luck.
ReplyDeleteHi guys, you have 48 min to enter the comp, I'm off to bed, and have a dentist appointment in the morning, will draw the winner in approx 12 hours.
ReplyDeleteI hope that I'm not too late. I'd be interested in a group of Normans for SAGA but with a twist. They would represent Normans fighting for Robert Guiscard in the conquest of Sicily and Southern Italy.
ReplyDeleteHi Jage - sorry, 13 hours to late.
